We are living in unprecedented times. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has upended societies across the globe and unsettled economies. At times like these, it’s inspiring to see how people are banding together to tackle this crisis and limit its impact on people and business. I’m especially proud to be part of the global tech community and heartened by the many ways in which peers throughout the industry are stepping in and stepping up. This is “business-as-unusual”.
Our people are the lifeblood of Software AG. Keeping our people safe and well is of paramount importance. To that end, our employees have been encouraged to work from home where possible as a preventive measure. I am incredibly proud of the speed and sensitivity displayed by my leadership team as we face this challenge.
For our customers, availability of their digital infrastructure is vital to ensure continuity of critical business applications. To meet these expectations, we have initiated our Business Continuity Management System. Incident response teams are in place and well-enabled to manage crisis situations so that support services remain available. Our business continuity plan includes a pandemic plan that enables us to respond to and recover from events such as COVID-19.
Software AG maintains a distributed workforce across many countries, which reduces the impact of a single office undergoing a mass absence of personnel. Our teams are well set up for remote working and will carry out all activities to support our customers. Rest assured: we will keep our operations running across the globe.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will take all necessary measures to ensure the health and safety of our people and business continuity for our customers.

New Global Support Phone System
We are pleased to introduce our new Global Support Phone System, which provides an enhanced interaction with our Support organization.
• For a new Incident, you can now enter your customer number to streamline Incident creation by phone. You can obtain your customer number in Empower eService.
• For an existing Incident, you can enter your Incident number for direct access to the Incident owner.
Our Support Phone numbers have changed. Please refer to the Support Phone Directory for the new numbers.

April 2019 Product Release
Software AG releases new product versions twice a year: in April and October.
In April most of the products have an Innovation Release. This type of release is intended for customers who want to get their hands on new features and capabilities as quickly as possible. However, it is not intended for long-term production use, as we only provide fixes for the first 6 months, and support for the first 12 months. Customers who adopt this release will be required to migrate to the next standard release within 12 months.
webMethods, Terracotta, Universal Messaging, Zementis, Mashzone NextGen and some Adabas & Natural products are included in the Innovation Release. For most ARIS, Apama, Alfabet, Trendminer and some Adabas & Natural products, this is a Standard Release with a normal support cycle.

This note is to inform you that we have upgraded your environment with the relevant patches and firmware updates of operating systems per the advice and recommendation of the respective vendors.
Our tests conducted with upgraded environments for Software AG Cloud have not revealed any adverse effects to the performance and operational stability.

BS2000 Time Overflow Issue
Software AG products on BS2000 are affected by the BS2000 C/C++ time overflow problem which can occur after January 19, 2018.
LongJump and AgileApps System Migration

We will be upgrading our hosting capabilities by moving the LongJump and AgileApps platform from Rackspace to Amazon AWS (US).
During the migration you won’t be able to access LongJump and AgileApps applications.

Why are we migrating to AWS?
LongJump and AgileApps have been hosted on Rackspace since LongJump was launched in 2007. During the last 10 years hosting technology has advanced tremendously and we want to improve our ability to offer reliable cloud services. The security and governance services are also much more extensive with AWS technology.
What impact will this have to my applications?
We’ve tested this migration and don’t expect there to be any impact to your applications.
How do I access LongJump or AgileApps after the migration?
After the migration, use the same login URL you’ve used previously.
If I encounter an issue, how should I report it?
If you encounter an issue, please raise a support case or open a Support Incident on Empower. If you are not the primary contact for your tenant, please let your System Administrators know so that they can raise a Support Incident on Empower.
Redesigned Documentation Portal
Software AG’s product documentation portal has been redesigned to give you an improved user experience of finding, reading and downloading the information you need.
The new portal will be available in Empower on October 5, 2017 at around 19:00 CEST and will replace the current documentation site.

Information about the WannaCry attack
To the best of our knowledge, Software AG has not experienced any cyberattacks through WannaCry. The company is working continuously on keeping its systems as up-to-date as possible, performing recurrent backups of relevant data and monitoring incoming data for possible malware. Furthermore, we are regularly improving security mechanisms and enhancing our employees’ security awareness. To this end, Software AG has installed a central IT security committee with representatives from all key areas within the company.
Important changes in ARIS to SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Interface
With its new release, SAP will offer with Solution Manager 7.2 SP 3 an open API for data exchange. Securing classical ARIS for SAP® Solutions capabilities and leveraging new ones, ARIS will be the first to support this API. Software AG plans to deliver a dedicated service release directly after SAP releases so that you can profit from a smooth transition.

MashZone NextGen is based on Presto and is a replacement for Software AG's original MashZone product.

New Simple Upload Form for Submitting Diagnostic Info
We are happy to provide you a new simple upload form on Empower for quickly submitting diagnostic info for your Support Incidents. You can now submit larger files of up to 100 MB directly to your Support Incidents without having to use FTP options. Simply select one of your company's open Incidents, select a file, and hit "Upload File to Incident". That’s it!
- Files up to 10 MB can continue to be submitted via eService or email
- Files up to 100 MB can now be uploaded via the new upload form
- Files >100 MB can continue to be submitted via FTP, SFTP / FTPS

Java 8 Support for webMethods 9.7
webMethods 9.7 products have now been certified with Java 8. For Java 8 support you have to install the Software AG Java Package 18.104.22.168 and corresponding product fixes using Software AG Update Manager. For details on install instructions and dependent fixes, please refer to Software AG Java Package 22.214.171.124 readme.
The webMethods 9.7 System Requirements document has also been updated.

New Brainstorm Launched
Software AG is pleased to announce the launch of the new Brainstorm. This portal allows Software AG customers and partners to log Feature Requests for Software AG products and share valuable feedback on Feature Requests submitted by others. The Brainstorm portal can be accessed via the Products & Documentation -> Feature Requests in Brainstorm section of Empower.
Some of the new features included in the new Brainstorm portal, built on the AgileApps Live platform, include:
- Ability to Like a Feature Request and watch Feature Requests you are interested in
- Reports such as My Feature Requests and My Watched Feature Requests are visible at a glance
- Ability to add attachments to a Feature Request
- Full-text search of Feature Requests
- Easier tracking of a Feature Request status through notifications
- Out-of-the-box reports for Most Popular and Most Recent Feature Requests

New Secure FTP Option for Sending Diagnostic Info
Secure FTP servers are now available for securely sending diagnostic information to Software AG Global Support. They utilize FTP over explicit TLS (also known as FTPES). FTPES is a protocol that is based entirely on the FTP standard, but makes use of TLS to add a layer of security. Visit our Diagnostic Info page to see how to send files to Software AG.
